Specialist Lifting Solution in London
RHC Lifting has completed the installation of a specialist lifting solution in London. The hoists will be used to help construct the Plant Rooms in a new Skyscraper which when finished will be London’s second tallest building.
The special hoisting solution comprises of 4 x 10t SWF Krantechnik Nova Tandem Hoists and can be operated in pairs or all four hoists together to lift electrical plant, building supplies and other equipment into the basement of the Skyscraper.
The hoists were installed onto a monorail system, also designed and built by RHC Lifting. The largest load lifted will be the 27t transformer which will be connected to all 4 hoists via two 15t spreader beams and lowered two floors and moved to the plant rooms. All other smaller equipment can be loaded onto a 6.5 x 3 metre and RHC Lifting designed platform and lowered again using all four hoists.
The system is controlled by SWF Krantechnik Tandem and Hoist Synchronised intelligent features to ensure all hoists safely operate together as required by BS EN15011.
The operator will control the hoists using an AUTEC Radio Remote LK Neo radio which will allow them to select which hoists are required.
Once all the equipment has been lowered, RHC Lifting will return to the site in 6 to 12 months to remove the equipment.
